Sleepover Nightgowns

Won't my little one and her friend look cute in their matching sleepover nightgowns? She's so excited! Took about an hour and a half to make both. I think this is called peasant style with the elastic around the neck - makes a comfy nightie.

Ready to Smock Bishops

Two ready to smock size 6 month bishop dresses with banded short sleeves. One is a 100% cotton lavender mottled print, the other is my white broadcloth I LOVE to use. TOO cute!

Variation of Ginger Snaps Designs Float Dress. Polka dots on dress are actually little stars so this is a cute patriotic dress for my youngest. Won't she be cute?!!?

Floral Dress with stripe ruffle

Dress pattern : Simplicity 4658, Size 8 fits like a size 10!

I'm not totally happy with this one. It doesn't excite me at all...but my kiddo loves it. I think it needs a belt...maybe hot pink grosgrain ribbon?

Update: ok, I added a belt and cinched it in with buttons in the back instead of the zipper and I'm happy with it now.

Black & White dress

Using pattern: Simplicity 3749

Size 8, View A, This is for my daughter. Recycled white fabric that Mom will probably recognize. The neat thing on this one is the little black line around the bottom. I didn't have any black ribbon for that accent so I tried something new. I zig zagged around a piece of worsted weight black yarn and I LOVE the result. I may never do ribbon like that again. It was easy, forgiving, and has a nice fuzzy look to the accent. I was trying to make a more "grown up" looking dress. I think she may wear this with tights to school...it's too cute to save for Sundays only!

Pretty Crochet Hat in White

I liked this head hugging pattern. It is mostly double crochet so it finishes quick. I didn't do as many rows as the pattern calls for because the pattern's for a grown-up and this one is for a kid. I also crocheted with two strings for the last row of single crochet by adding some eyelash to make it nice for my "Fancy" girl!

Tissue Covers

I'm making pocket pack tissue holders for everybody! Here's the pattern I used. I guess I'll send a dollar for using it! (Meant to get this done a month ago!) -- aren't they cute?

Baby Avery's hat

My cousin had a preemie several months ago and she's finally home from the hospital! I made this little crochet cap for her this Christmas...so cute! It's in pure white, but I had to turn off the flash to see the stitches. Here's the pattern. To make this pattern a baby hat, I used a hook 3 sizes smaller and sport weight yarn. Took about 90 minutes to whip it up! After adding a little eyelash yarn to the last row -- viola!

Tiger Paw on Man's shirt

Machine embroidered this Clemson tiger paw on a shirt for my sister's father-in-law. It turned out perfect!

Adult Bib/Apron made with a hand towel

My Aunt requested this bib/Apron made from fabric and a hand towel. The top of the "bib" has two different fabrics so it is reversable for two different looks. The bottom is a hand towel so it is more absorbant that my earlier version I made a while ago. I just cut off the bottom of the old pattern and added the towel - I see I didn't put the velcro on yet...there's more to do!

Crochet Booties

I hadn't made these in a while, but we have a new baby at work so this is for the shower next week. Too cute -- they are an adaptation of this pattern -- I didn't do a cuff, I added a fancy trim with single crochet instead. I love making these...quick and easy!

Sport Ball Themed Pocket Blanket - SUPER fast & easy!

You can sew a rectangle on three sides to make a nice pocket for little feet when they cover up with this blanket.

OR ... You can turn it over, fold into thirds, then little folds up to the rectangle and when you flip it inside out, you have a pillow...

They are drawstring bags that open flat. You can store smaller jewelry items in the 6 wedged shaped pockets or larger pieces in the middle of the pouch. I made these several years ago for some ladies in my family. I finally came across some satin to make these.

Denim Baby Shoes

Here is an "in-progress" picture of the baby shoes made out of my old pair of jeans.

I used purple fleece as the sole lining for comfort. Here are the finished shoes. (I made two pairs)

Colonial day at school. Dress pattern is

Simplicity 5483. I used an old bed sheet as the fabric for the dress. The sheet had the long eyelet on it already so I didn't have to embellish that by hand. She wanted an apron, so we found some lacy fabric to be her apron as this pattern yields a very loose fitting dress. She refused to even wear a bonnet so I didn't waste my time making one.

Halloween Veterenarian

Veterenarian costume for my daughter. From a pajama pattern. My other daughter wore it on "Hometown Hero" day at school too.

Veterinarian Scrubs Costume Pants

My youngest daughter is going to be a veterinarian for Halloween. Here's the first part of her costume. These "scrubs" are from a pajama pattern with pockets added, and she plans to wear them as pajamas after Halloween. I'll post more after I make the rest of the costume. So far, this is as far as I've gotten.

Booties

Made these cloth shoes for my cousin's baby. She'll be adorable this fall with her pink & brown polka dotted shoes!

John Deere Ensemble

One of my husband's friends at work requested a John Deere grocery cart cover. I haven't made one in at least a year, but once I got started, I remembered how to do it.

I added the bib and little shoes as a little "treat" from the scraps.

Purse of Shame - Shot Gun Shell Pouch

This is a booby prize my husband asked me to make. His hunting club has a "spring blast" party where they all shoot skeet all afternoon and whoever does the worst used to get a fishing pole, but now they have this lovely "purse of shame." It is worn as a belt to hold their shotgun shells while shooting. I used lovely supergirl fabric to line it and a nice combination of lace and ribbon to dress it up just right. My husband was so excited about bringing it to work to hand off to the biggest loser...it is too bad that he ended up being the loser! He will have to bring it back next year and pass it on to next year's recipient!

Crochet Earrings

Well dear little sister, I couldn't wait for you to come visit next week to show me your earrings...I just had to make some myself. They took about 30 minutes to make...LOVE IT!

Pajamas from a sheet

My youngest daughter's favorite sheets got a hole in them that was not repairable so I promised to make her pajamas from the sheet before I tossed it. Nice soft Jersey -- pink with white polka dots. It is Comfy! Butterick 4383

New Dress

I made a dress for my older daughter to wear Easter morning...Yes, I made it the night before Easter and it only took 3 hours from getting out the fabric to a finished product.

I Love this pattern for many reasons, it is fast, cute, comfortable, no zipper or buttons, and it has pockets in the side seam. Added about 2 inches to the length so it would reach her knees. Simplicity 3513

It was a "sewing emergency" ...when the other one I made her turned out WAY to big!

Toille Bishop for my daughter
